For non-Virginians you should know that there is a Western shore of Chesapeake Bay in the Commonwealth of Virginia…and…there is an Eastern Shore. The Eastern shore is a spit of land separating the Bay and the Atlantic.
The Inn at Tabbs Creek is on a secluded creek in charming Mathews County, Virginia, on the Western Shore, North of Norfolk and East of Richmond, VA.
The Inn has over 800 ft. of waterfront and 8 acres of wooded and open space. The main Inn is an 1880’s newly renovated farmhouse with a separate cottage housing the luxury suites just across the garden and pool.
We love it because The Inn at Tabbs Creek is an eco-friendly and a certified
Virginia Green lodging establishment, it is just the place if you appreciate the natural splendor of the outdoors yet want the luxury and comfort of a casual B&B. Tabbs Creek has partnered with Carbonfund.org to pay for our carbon offsets, so that you may stay “Guilt Free”!, (or at least, Carbon Neutral).
This area is a great opportunity for bicycle exploration with no stoplights, low traffic, and flat roads, explore the county via several mapped routes that take you through beautiful country roads as well as historic and natural sites. Also for the active there is one of the most extensive kayak trail systems on the Eastern Coast, the Blueways Water Trails offer over 90 miles of mapped routes.
If you have a smaller water craft, you can also bring your boat and launch from the Inn’s own boat ramp, or boat in and tie up at their private dock.
