Las Vegas hidden-gems Golf…Casinos…Shops…Restaurants…WAY OFF the “Strip”.

Angel Park Mtn Course Hole 10

Angel Park Mtn Course Hole 10

If you prefer a leisurely Las Vegas experience…off the Strip… that includes; golf..cute boutique shops…fine dining choices…but does include some casino options…we recommend the Las Vegas West Side.

About 8  miles west of the Strip on Rampart Blvd just off the Charleston east/west artery, you will find Angel Park public golf course.  Cut out of the high desert with green target fairway-plots and beautiful island greens, you can enjoy your golf with spectacular views of Red Rock Canyon (a great place for hiking too)…and the “Strip” in the distance across the Las Vegas valley.

Angel park has 36 holes designed by Arnold Palmer…if you are over 20 years old you should know who that is…  This course like most requires shirts with collars…if you want one that wicks moisture…and is the most comfortable and softest you will ever own check out this Casualmere® bamboo golf shirt.

Across the street from Angel Park is the Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa…and the Rampart boutique casino.  The Marriott Resort features fabulous restaurants with spectacular decor and views, and the Spa is…well…Luxury defined.

The Marriott web site is a good one and offers full comprehensive info that will answer any questions and tempt you to the “West Side”.  The Rampart Casino is steps from the Resort for easy access and also has restaurants and classic Las Vegas entertainment.  It is a small casino with a small, intimate showroom not at all like the famous, now huge, “Strip” casinos.’

Just a quarter mile north is the locals targeted Sun Coast Hotel & Casino, larger than the Rampart, and includes an excellent Italian restaurant Salvitore’s...and SC Prime Steakhouse…and others including Mexican food and an Oyster Bar… and featuring a wide selection of casino table games and gaming machines.

If you stay at the Sun Coast you can reserve a golf package at any of 5 courses including:…Angel Park…Arroyo Golf ClubBadlandsSiena Golf Club…and TPC Las Vegas…an orgy of  luxury golf!

The Sun Coast Resort also offers a movie theater complex..bowling alleys..and a Spa!

And…if 32 holes of golf and 2 casinos and who knows how many restaurants within 1/2 mile of one another aren’t enough for you…there is a brand new European designed…Italian inspired…outdoor shopping experience just across the street…the brand new Tivoli Village.

Tivoli Village is luxury shopping and dining venue under the desert stars.  Several restaurants with both indoor and outdoor seating…boutiques…and easy parking make this beautiful luxury venue a “don’t miss” during a “West Side” stay.

If you go to Google Maps you will see just up the street is Boca Park a large shopping center with groceries, clothing and chain stores like Target, if you forgot some basics for your stay.  On the opposite corner are many additional restaurant choices including PF Changs…always a great choice.

Also within 2 miles, going west, on the edge of Las Vegas/Summerlin is the Red Rock Resort-Spa-Casino…which we reviewed a couple months ago.  Check it out as it is a new, elegant, luxury venue for everyone.  You will want to see this resort to consider for future Las Vegas visits… if you have not found it already.

So…pack your golf clubs…your Casualmere® bamboo women’s topsmen’s t-shirts …and a Bamboo Casualmere dress, …and visit the quieter Las Vegas West Side.

There is a lot of Las Vegas you may not yet know about…we love it.

ENJOY!
