If you haven’t spent your craziest Halloween or New Years Eve yet, we have a suggestion …Las Vegas. The “Strip” is blocked to vehicle traffic and revelers… you… can walk up and down Las Vegas Boulevard to your content …at least for a few hours …refreshment in hand too.
For New Years on 2011 there were fireworks displays from the roofs of; MGM Grand… Aria (new in City Center)… Planet Hollywood… Caesars Palace… Treasure Island… The Venetian… and the Stratosphere. Not counting out-lying “town” casino resorts like Red Rock.
Of course there are shows everywhere in town and lots of festivities downtown at the Freemont Street Experience (be careful with this link it has music at volume). Last year there were approximately 300,000 people celebrating New Year’s Eve per the Metro police report.
Two cautions …plan ahead for your hotel room for either celebration …bring warm clothing just in case …it was quite cold on Dec 31, 2010. And if flying in… reserve your flight now. Keep in mind… New Year’s Eve is only about 75 days away. And… New Year’s Eve for 2012 is Saturday night!
